One of DT Dijkstra’s success factors is the quality of the machines and installations supplied.
Quality control is not a snapshot at the end of the production process, but a continuous attention to detail throughout the entire production. From the purchase of sheet material and parts to the finishing and adjustment of machines and project parts.
Recently, 3 interns from Aeres Plant & Business (intermediate vocational education) have started working on a field lab project at DT Dijkstra. Robin, Rianne and Marc will – after exploring the company and internal processes – make recommendations for the continuous improvement of quality control in our production facility.
This involves looking at delivery quality and production efficiency by preventing errors or unplanned events. For this they will work closely with the employees involved in these processes. In addition, they are intensively supervised by their internship supervisor from Aeres.
Focus on grading machines
The interns will focus on the well-known grading machine RT-2/5 and the renewed Grade. It is interesting to compare the quality process of the RT-2/5 that has been produced for years and that of the new Grade. Where does the existing process provide structure and where does a new machine require adjustment of the procedures?
At the end of their internship period, Marc, Robin and Rianne record their findings and advice in a report and a presentation for the board and management of DT Dijkstra and a representative of their school. A nice end to an educational period for the interns with a source of interesting information for DT Dijkstra: a win-win situation.
We wish our interns a good and successful time at DT Dijkstra!
What is the Aeres field lab?
- The Field lab is a collaboration of 14 partner companies in the Dutch Noordoostpolder region and Aeres Plant & Business.
- Aeres intermediate vocational education students learn by working in groups of 3 or 4 (preferably together with a higher vocational education student) on practical assignments from a partner company.
- An internal teacher provides guidance; an experienced expert in the field of content and approach to the practical assignment who has affinity with young learners.
Unique interaction
DT Dijkstra attaches great value to offering and investing in a good internship position, where students can learn and work in practice and in a realistic working environment.
In practice we see that not only the students learn from this. The collaboration with motivated and well-trained students also gives us the opportunity to keep up with new developments and to continuously improve ourselves.
